It’s all happening at our new locations!

Hey there.

Just to remind you, we are now blogging from some new locations, so if you haven’t already, please come and join us. We are currently running 3 blogs:

Please check them out, subscribe, join us on twitter, and hang with us! We are super excited about this next stretch of our journey.

We are back, but not as you know it!

As you may have noticed, things have been a little quite around here recently.

This was mainly the result of a lot of people within the core group who ran the AFC blog having changes in their lives which meant that they couldn’t keep up with the blogging.

The main point though is that Artists for Christ is back, but a little different!

We have decided that it is best to split Artists for Christ into a few individual blogs and have it running as a growing blog network. One of the main reasons for this is that it was felt that before there were a lot of very different posts going out which covered a huge range of subjects, and a lot of them may not have been relevant to everyone following the blog. We are going to start it slowly, but we are relaunching right now with 3 new blogs. If they are of interest to you, please follow them on your Twitter/RSS feeder, or get email updates.

Here we are exploring how visual art can be used by the church for communication and what it means to be a Christian visual artist in the 21st century.”

Social:Christ

Communication is key for both evangelism and keeping things running well within the church. With the explosion of Web 2.0/Social Media there is both an opportunity to do communication really well, and an opportunity to really suck.

Social:Christ is about helping you to suck less.”

We will be opening more blogs as time goes by, but for now we will be starting up again slowly.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has helped and supported Artists for Christ along the way, through good times and bad. I hope we can continue working together and bringing glory to God in creative ways!

Lastly, we are still very much looking for quality bloggers to work with, so please, if you have skills to offer, and ideas to bring, email me at james (at) artistsforchrist (dot) net.

Jesus Saves – Southbank Skatepark, London

Jesus Saves

A couple of months ago I had the privilege of painting with Joax and Bams of the Gospel Graffiti Crew, as well as my good friend Daniel. Here is the result of our main day of painting, which was a really blessed time on a sunny autumn day by the Thames.

I think that Gospel Graffiti and other Christian graffiti crews are doing a really awesome and valuable job and the quality of some of the stuff that is coming out of these guys is just fantastic.

Keep praying for these guys, especially for doors to be opened.

We’re coming back!

Jesus, once more deeply moved, came to the tomb. It was a cave with a stone laid across the entrance.”Take away the stone,” he said.
“But, Lord,” said Martha, the sister of the dead man, “by this time there is a bad odor, for he has been there four days.”

Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?”

So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.”

When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face.
Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.”

John 11: 38-44

Berlin 2009

Berlin 2009

You may have noticed that the Artists for Christ blog has been a little quiet recently.

The main reason for this is that we have been preparing to go on mission, and we are leaving tonight!

The team is made up from guys all over Europe and we are heading to Berlin to share the gospel through an art exhibition, live painting on the streets, prayer for healing, and other exciting stuff!

We really need your prayer support so please sign up to our Berlin prayer newsletter.

We are extremely excited about this trip and seeing our awesome God touch people’s lives. Watch this space for news!

May the Lord bless you all,

- James
